[Ignis snorts softly at that, shaking his head.]

Please. As if you aren't completely aware of how each word leaves your mouth.

Weeell, I mean. That's different.

[He glanced down at his hands, fiddling around idly with the camera.]

Hey, Iggy? You were usually busy before, so, when Gladio kissed you, was that your first kiss?

Yeah, we're at Denny's. Don't think I'm gonna sleep tonight, so I can stay up and guard.

Where you at?

We're all on the farming islet now. Gladio brought me, Ardyn and the girls over not long ago.

[Ignis still isn't all that happy about leaving the cottage unprotected, but even as skilled as he and Ardyn are, there is no way the two of them alone could have guarded it indefinitely. It is just too much area.

Maybe once this is done, they can see about setting up some kind of protective wall around it or at least along the side facing the water.]

I know it will be hard, but you should try to get at least a few hours of sleep. We have no idea how long this will last and wearing yourself out early on will help no one.

Oh, is it now? And why, exactly is that?

[Yeah, he's not letting you get out of it that easy, Prom.]

While you are quite correct about how busy I was, the answer is no. Gladio wasn't my first kiss. Both Soma and Ardyn beat him to that. Why do you ask?

[Actually, Ignis is pretty sure he knows exactly why Prompto asked, but he is going to give the blonde a chance to volunteer the information first.]

I don't linger. Hit and run, man.

[Total bro thing to do.]

Oh, I was just... thinking. He's, uh, the only one who's kissed me, and I thought that might be the same for you, too.

I know, I know. But after last time... I keep worrying the sun's not gonna come up. Noct has run us ragged plenty of times before. I can last until we can get over there.

[He honestly wasn't worried about their home. Not because he didn't care, but because he cared about Iggy so much more. Until the danger had passed and everyone was safe, everything else took a distant second place.]

At least I know you guys are together. I'll stick with Noct. Maybe we've gotta start... I dunno, building up for the next attack when this is done.

"Clever." Mumbled against Iggy's lips as Gladio reaches out with one foot to kick the chair Prompto never pushes in back out of the way and then it's a clear path to the bedroom. As they move he turns, dropping back against the door himself, grunting softly when his aim is off a little and the door frame digs into the back of his shoulder. But that was the point, so he can feel where he is and it only takes a fleeting moment of dropping his hand away from Ignis' ass to turn the door knob.

Then he's pushing through the door, turning quickly, kicking it shut behind him. A low chuckle against Ignis' mouth and then, abruptly he's heaving him up a little higher, breaking the hold of his legs crossed behind his back and tossing Ignis down onto the bed with a laugh. There's a moment between them, where they aren't touching but there's a rustle of cloth, the heavy thunk of Gladio's boots being tossed aside and by the time the Shield is climbing onto the bed with him it's quickly apparent he's naked.

Not in the slightest. I simply speak whatever might be on my mind.

Oh?

[There is mischief in his gaze suddenly, and while this may totally backfire, he's still going for it.]

And what is on your mind right now?

Last I knew there was no requirement when it came to how long contact had to be to be considered 'handsy.'

[Care to try again?]

Had he arrived here with us, it's possible he may have been.

[Though, it's also possible Ignis may have never gone through the development he needed to actually accept and act on his feelings for Gladio.]

He is no Cindy, but hopefully you aren't too upset that he took your first kiss.

It's a little weird to think Gladio was my first kiss, but I can get over it.

[Unexpected, but not traumatic for life.]

Dude, the length of contact is a major factor. Longer than 3 seconds and it gets suspicious.

[Ignis has been trying hard not to think about the sun dying again. After all, they'd been given plenty of warning the first time. Wouldn't it be the same this time if it was going to happen again?]

I was thinking about that as well. We really need some kind of barrier between the areas we've built up and the sea. Walls, perhaps, if we can gather enough wood or stone. Something to keep these creatures from setting us back months each time they come to 'visit.' I'm loathe to ask for Gladio's assistance on this, though. He will want to prioritize repairs over building anything new.

You think they'll keep coming?

Maybe me, you 'n Noct can build some kind of wall with a gate? And I could try and get some electricity going for lights. We just need the right metals for that.

"He makes the most pitiful sounds when he even thinks you're going to step on him," Ignis mutters back as Gladio finishes clearing their path and opens the door. "I had to do something before I lost my mind."

Ignis is glad when Gladio turns his attention back to him, but that feeling lasts only for a moment as he knows better than to trust that particular chuckle. He's just opening his mouth to warn the Shield against whatever he's thinking when he's dropped onto the bed causing his breath to leave him in a startled huff. He doesn't even get to properly scold Gladio for the rough handling because by the time he has his breath back, his lover is back on the bed and very naked.

"This is quite unfair. I do hope you realize that." How is he suppose to have enough focus to scold when there is so much tanned skin and muscle for him to focus on feeling instead?

Hm... [Ardyn leaned his forehead against Ignis', a smirk clearly evident in his voice.]

I'm thinking about how foolish I am for actually seeking you out today, and yet I did it regardless. Why is that, do you think?

Oh? Is that so. I suppose that means I need to break out a stopwatch the next time it happens.

[Not that he can, you know, read a stopwatch, but details.]

If you are referring to the first time I was intimate with someone, then yes, he was.

[There is no blush dusting his cheeks as he says that. Definitely not a repeat of before. Get your eyes checked!]

This makes it very clear that they can appear outside of the rare occurrence that was the Sun's death, so yes, I believe they will keep coming. Even if this incursion doesn't last that long, it doesn't mean another won't.

[As he told Gladio, he's tired of wasting so much time reacting when acting is the only way they are ever going to get this place figured out.]

Walls with a reinforced gate would be ideal.

[Though Prompto can't see it, Ignis' expression grows contemplative. Honestly, he hasn't even dared to let himself think so far ahead as lights yet.]

Do you really think we might be able to accomplish that? A request to the Storyteller may gain us at least a small supply of metals and there is always what we found on Umui.

[Not that he's really sure he wants to make use of what was found there after everything, but if they have no other choice...]

[Ignis laughs softly at the question, though his voice is quite deadpan when he answers.]

Oh, that answer is easy. You obviously came to see the chocobos and need me to distract Prompto so you can spend time with them without the continuous sound of a camera going off.

That seems as reasonable an explanation as any. Obviously.

It's the unspoken rule, man. Like how long it's okay for something to be on the ground before it's not okay to eat anymore.

[Yeah, Prompto would totally follow some of that nonsense. He quieted a bit, a little nervous himself.]

So you were a virgin, too. Guess it's good to know I at least wasn't the only one. Pretty sure Noct is, too. It's, uh, well. Kinda nice not being the odd man out or anything.

[There could be a lot of pressure to have had sex in order to feel manly. But, like with many other things, he didn't have to worry about it as much with the guys.

And it was probably safe to assume Gladio hadn't been a virgin.]

[Prompto, dude, you are getting such a look right now.]

How strange, and here I thought it was a fairly unspoken rule that you don't eat anything that's fallen on the floor no matter how long it's been there.

[Because that is totally the point here, right?]

You may rest assured you were far from the odd man out. I never had time for it before; additionally, I never felt the need to make time for it. Taking care of Noct and learning what I needed to in order to make him successful was all more important to me.

[Interestingly enough, Gladio was the odd man out in this case. Then again, it was a given that he would marry and produce an heir--preferably early considering the danger of the role he held--to make sure that when Noctis produced his own heir, there would be someone ready to take up the role of their Shield.

Was being the key word. The Fall kind of changed all that.]

[Ignis' voice grows softer then, amusement becoming something closer to fondness.]

Though, if you were actually worried about me for some strange reason, I promise not to tell.

Me, worried? Just whoever might you think you're speaking to?

[There was a faint tone of amusement in Ardyn's voice, idly wiping away ash from scars.]

I never worry about anyone.

"Oh? Well I guess we just need to make it even, then." The grin is audible in Gladio's voice, hands working swiftly over the buttons of his shirt, rumbling his annoyance as he always does when he has to undress his lover.

"Difference is I make it easy." Grumbled playfully as he shoves Ignis' partially unbuttoned shirt out of the way so that he can drag teeth and lips and tongue over skin that is still impressively pale considering they're on a tropical island. It makes the contrast of Gladio's deep tan even more clear where his hands slide up over Ignis' chest. But for all the grumbling he dips his head, suckles lightly at his collarbone, nibbles his way up Iggy's throat.

"Love you."
